2009 Ford Focus

A great article on the 2009 Ford Focus

Q: What is the difference between the 2009 ford focus and the 2010?
I’m buying a new ford focus and i was wondering what the difference between getting the 2009 and the 2010? I will be getting the SES coupe with mostly all of the upgrades !

A: I research the 09 and 10 model and the different is that the 10 version SES model comes standard 17 inch painted alloy wheels, standard abs with dynamic control, ford sync system now is upgraded to a navgation, traffic, and info system and last the mykey feature which now the remote keyless entry is ingrated to the key. Keep in mind 09 model are better deal cuzz u get the 2500 dollars rebate while the 10 version u get only 1000 rebate. My dad bought the 2009 ford focus SES and he got it for 10999 plus tax and fee and the msrp is 19375 so pretty much rape the ford dealership. Good Luck

Q: What are the differences between 2008 and 2009 Ford Focus wagon?
What are the differences between 2008 and 2009 Ford Focus wagon?
Which one do you prefer?

A: Actually, bud, neither. They both have a very glaring flaw and unless you are willing to buy a vehicle that WILL NOT last more than 20,000 miles I suggest that you turn your head and look the other way. I promise, that car is crap!!!! The transmission of my 08 dropped out at 24,500 miles, wouldn’t even go into reverse. I traded it for an 09 and the difference in cost, guess what, 20,000 miles later, NO TRANSMISSION. They were both automatics so it was no fault of my own. Buy a jeep!

Q: What can I do to a 2009 Ford Focus Sedan?
I have a new 2009 Ford Focus SE Sedan…it’s fairly newer but I was wondering if anyone knew about any after market parts coming out for it like bodykits, intakes adn things like that. I like the car but I was hoping I could some modifications to it…..any help is appreciated, thanks!

A: I would wreck it!

Q: What website can I find the best deal on a 2009 Ford Focus?
I need to find a 2009 Ford Focus (Black/Manual) for less than $20,205. I need to find it online. It’s for a marketing project. Any ideas? I’m stuck

A: the ford website

Q: What is your opinion on the 2009 Ford Focus?
I’m thinking of buying a new car, and I want to know what you think about the Ford Focus.

A: Looks a little cartoonish on the outside, but it actually seems to be a pretty good car overall-very affordable, great gas mileage, and lots of tech for the money.

Q: What’s a better deal, a 2009 Ford Focus or 2009 Ford Fusion (or hybrid)?
I have a friend who wants to get a new car.

I think the Ford Focus is a waste of money, especially to buy a BRAND NEW one.

I want to suggest to her that the 2009 Fusion Hybrid is worth the extra dough.

Can someone tell me some reasons why the Fusion is a better, logical deal?

A: 1. Better looking
2. Bigger/more space
3. Better Fuel Economy (2010 Fusion hybrid gets 39 mpg, 2009 Focus get’s 28)
By the way, it’s the new 2010 Fusion that’s has the hybrid option

Q: What are the basic maintenance requirements for a 2009 Ford Focus?
I don’t mean oil & filter changes. I mean how many miles can you get out of the timing belt and brakes?

A: well ford says 5,000 for oil changes under normal conditions,(whats normal ?),I’ve always stuck with no more than 3,000 miles in between oil changes,no matter if on the freeway or in town setting at a lite the motor is on running oil getting hot running through the motor, cooling, keeping parts lubed and picking up contaminates and being filtered, oil tests say oil starts to break down at 2,500 miles, and if you notice that’s when it really starts changing color, synthetic can go longer,i know you didn’t ask about oil but the problem is that the other stuff you speak of is really driver controlled, belts some go 10,000 some go 45,000 miles, does the car set out side?,some go 1 year, some go 5 years, same on air filters, brakes, some go 10 years 90,000 miles on frt and 120,000 on rears, some go 10-15,000 on frt and 25,000 on rears,a lot of braking again is driver controlled, timing belt, some vehicles go 30,000 miles others 90,000,some don’t need them because their chain driven, pending on the motor you have,if it has a timing belt it will need to be changed at 90,000 miles, everything else is luck of draw,i would say cooling system flush every two years or 30,000 miles, and trans flush every 25,000 miles, power steering flush at 30,000 miles, good luck have fun and drive

Q: Should I buy a 2009 Ford Focus or a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta?
Heres the deal, I am about to get a new car and I really like the VW Jetta overall. The thing is I can get a brand new Ford Focus SEL for the same price and it has that cool Sync thing,,,,,,,

I know that the Jetta has a better history, but I dont know much about the Ford Focus but the fact that it looks really nice this year.

What do you think?

A: Hard to know the long term reliability of the 2009 Ford Focus, i know reviews by MSN Autos give it a 7.0 and with only a handful of consumer reviews, i really don’t think you can get a good feel. Consumer reports rates the 2009 Ford Focus at 71, which i don’t think is too good.

The Jetta does report some minor engine issues in the 2006 model, but MSN Auto review is an 8.2 and user reviews are a 9.2 (that is based off of 167 reviews, which is much more valid than 12 for the Ford) The 2005 Jetta does not have the same engine issues reported as the 2006 model if that makes any difference to you.

What i have always loved about the VW’s i have owned over the years (VW GTI, VW Golf and VW Beetle) is the feel of the car and the driving experience. When i test drove comparable Japanese or American cars, i noticed things like the sound of the door closing (much more solid on the VW), interior amenities (VW is just so well set up for my taste) and the feel of the ride, shifting and steering (all more sporty on the VW’s.)

Cars and owners have a special bond and there is a very personal component to what makes some people like one car over another. Test drive them both. Buy an aftermarket warranty when possible and always do your maintenance.

Hope this helps!

Q: I want to perform an oil change on my 2009 ford focus 1.6l Diesel and cannot locate the fuel filter?
Apparently its a canister type where the filter element within is changed and not the whole canister. Ideally I need direction to pictures or an adequate instruction on where to look. I am familiar with oil changes but i’ve never changed a diesel car. Thanks in advance
Sorry, Not the fuel filter-I meant to type OIL FILTER. My Mistake

A: Methinks you’re still confusing fuel filter with oil filter. The oil filter is the same as with any other engine these days, it’s a canister you replace all in one. If I recall correctly, you should see a white canister (if it’s a Ford original) down the back, or bulkhead, side of the engine.

It’s the same process, wind the old filter off, fill the new one with oil and lubricate the rubber gasket and screw it back on.

Q: Advice needed please. I am looking at a 2009 Ford Focus SEL to purchase. ?
I would be trading in my 2000 S-10, regular cab, that is begining to rust beyond repair. Kids would be planned within a year and we have a couple of dogs. I have my own home, so the truck comes in handy a few times a year. I can’t afford a larger crew cab truck which would be great for all things. Do I get the new Focus or keep my truck and worry about hauling the kids later? The truck has been paid off for three years.

A: no reason to get rid of the truck if its useful. You own it outright, why dump it. You are allowed to own more than one car you know.

I would look for a good used car, the deals are better and the payment will be less. 2008 focus is a solid car as well, heck anything made in the last 3 years is a safe bet.

Q: Difference between the 2008 ford focus and the 2009 ford focus?
Besides the year, are there differences in the interior or exterior design?

A: Very little, almost unnoticeable. The 2010 has the optional ambient lighting, and the Sync feature.Theyre pretty cool but extremely unnecessary.

Q: trying to buy a 2009 ford focus se and i am on the first time buyers program?
i was told by the dealer that i can be on the first time buyers program and i could use the z plan( my father in law retired from fords).
well i found out what the apr was going to be(20.5) so i thought to ask my brother in law who also works at fords and he said that i couldnt have the z plan if i was on the first time buyers program. can any one give me some input about what is correct and what i should do?

A: a 1st time buyers plan isnt the same as employee purchase programs. 1st time buyer programs are a program usually set up with high interest rates very low down payment to help those who normally would be turned down on a new car purchase. its a bit like they are saying ” we will trust you but its gonna cost you” now an employee purchase program is handled quite different because they hold the control of the car and employee. because the employee is supporting his own job they work with him better. 20.5 is sure stiff though, sounds like a credit card loan rate. getting a loan from your bank, a credit union, even paying for it from a second on a home loan is better.
