A: First off due you want to keep it stock or custom. Second do you care about gas mileage and performance or do you want a resto-rod with all new up to date systems. You can use any of the following engines for either construction. 426 Hemi, 383, 440, 318 are all good engines for what you want. Third do you want to race it? I prefer the resto-rod setup. I would use a 440 fuel injected and possibly with a turbo. This gives you good power as well as better gas mileage then came with the original engine. If cost is involved go with the 318 fuel injected and add the turbo. This can be a real screamer. The 318/340/360 engines are available just about everywhere. The 440 is harder to find and was first made as a truck engine for Dodge trucks. The 383 was the same but is harder to work on. Both give good performance. You can contact MoPar Parts and they will help you. There are after market items you can purchase that will also help performance. Have you thought about what type of transmission you wish to use? I would suggest the older 727 torque flight, it would work well with any of the engines and very strong. Also one of the newer 6 speed manual are quite good with a newer shifter kit added. If you go with the manual don’t forget the pistol grip shifter. What ever you decide remember MoPar FOREVER!!!!

i live in calgary alberta canada and ive been looking on autotrader for a classic 69 charger but all the ones i find are 60,70 thousand dollars. anybody know any sites or places where there are classics for a bit cheaper?

A: if you want to get littlee engine grease under your finger nails try craigslist…you might be able to find one in decent or fair condition that needs a little TLC

I have a 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T and I have been looking online for a grille insert that resembles the old 1969 Dodge Charger headlight look, where the grille spans the entire front end and the headlights are behind the grille. Does anyone know if there is such a thing out there?

A: No one makes one there hoss. You will have to stick with the grill you currently have.

A: Put the unibody on a Ramcharger frame with 44″ tires. That’s your only chance.

Q: what would be a good engine for a 69 dodge charger general lee?
i saw an old general lee on the side of the road and i would bet it dosent run plus i would like a more modern engine, so what do you think would be a good engine im thinking a 1990-2005 model maybe a hemi or a some type of chevy engine i want the same if not better than original power of the old engine, ANSWER FAST IM IMPATIENT.

A: good luck even finding this car at all its really rare and very valuable i’ve been looking for one for over 6 years and still haven’t found one …(live in the usa) … i have seen these cars go for $30-90 thusand dollars here in the usa but if you want a 69 dodge charger daytona u probly want find one for any less than 150,000 in the usa

can i cross jet the primaries on my 383 mag. with a 600 cfm holley and a purple cam. i want to run a 64 and a 67. anyone benefit from cross jetting?

A: First of all tuning is much more than changing Jets and Cams.
What RPM are you trying to achieve best results. You may need a couple set of Plugs and Try numerous sets. Remember the spark plugs are the best way to tell how lean or rich it is. The accelerator pump cams deliver different results as to how much fuel and how quickly it squirts the fuel in. You can adjust the cam by changing the gap and then trying to match that to a ramp that you like. Drag Racing, Street Racing and Roadcourse may require you to have several different setups for your vehicle.

Q: Air Drag of the 69 Dodge Charger / General Lee?
I’m trying to find the air drag of the 69 dodge charger most notable from the Dukes of Hazard. However, i need the drag coefficient of the vehicle. Can anyone help? :O

A: i doubt that you,ll find this but use all par’s web site and see if they list the specs on this,i don’t think there was an air drag test ever really done on the dukes car,they really wasn’t to concerned with that back when those cars was built,good luck.

A: mispacked toys are always worth the same or less (and usually much less) than the correctly carded ones.

A: Check hemmings.com and the wrecking yards. Many of the wrecking yards advertise on line . Unfortunately most of those cars were scrapped years ago so you will not have an easy time.
