Q: How much horsepower does a 1966 Ford Mustang have?
I am looking into buying a 1966 Ford Mustang from my friend and I was just wondering how much horsepower it was. I asked my friend but he didn’t know. I could probally find it somewhere. But this is easyer. It is a 1966, coupe, 6 cylinder, automatic transmission, Ford Mustang. It is not a Shelby Mustang. Just a standard Mustang. It needs a little work, but the engine is fine. All orignal parts. Thank you!

Q: What year was this first ford mustang was shown to the public and what year did it come out?
As the launch of the Ford Mustang approached, Ford was confident its new sporty car was on target. Its job now was to let the country know about this new kind of car. The introduction of what popularly would be known as the Ford Mustang was an encompassing and brilliant marketing blitz. America had scarcely seen anything like it.
A: 1964 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-generation_Ford_Mustang

Q: What is the smallest engine size in a ford mustang?
I am considering purchasing a used Ford mustang in the UK. It could be of any age as long as it isn’t too much of a gas guzzler.
A: Early Pintos and Mustang II’s had the German 2000 as a engine until they could get the 2300 manufactured..
Gearbox and Darrin hit it on the head, ..
I’ve owned 4 SVO’s and they are the best 4 cylinder built by Ford…
Have you heard the expression, “Have your cake and eat it too” means the economy of a four and the power of the v8…the turbo lets the 2.3 make the same horsepower as the 5.0

Q: How much is an original ford mustang 3 speed clutch worth?
I have an original Ford Mustang 3 speed clutch kit; I don’t need it, so I want to sell it, how much should I charge?
A: $50-$125 Me I wouldnt even give you a dime for it (no offense) unless I was doing a full concourse restoration. That clutch material now and back then was of poor quality and didnt hold up well unless you used to get groceries on sunday in pasadena
Kevalar is used in the mix now and holds up real well and lasts
Q: What should be the first modification to my 1989 ford mustang?
i just purchased a 1989 ford mustang and i am looking to make a first modification to it. i am looking for something fairly easy that i can do myself that i can do with normal tools. it already has bbk headers, bbk throttle body, bbk tb spacer, cold air intake, and pipes. So what can i now do to it that is fairly easy to do that will be on the cheaper side?
A: Couple different ways to tackle this question. Easiest biggest mod you could do yourself would be a Nitrous oxide kit. Biggest bang for the buck and you could install it in about 4-6 hours. If you want to go the all motor way I strongly suggest 3.73 gears. You would not be able to install your self but you would notice the second biggest difference next to the bottle(NOS).
Mass air meter is an easy 5-10 horsepower I recommend C&L 73mm, Oil change to synthetics like many have sugested, K&N filter. Bump timing to 14 degrees. Almost forgot pullys.
Do not go for a dyno tune until you change atleast heads and intake and injectors. 5.0’s don’t pick up much more HP from a dyno tune when they are pretty close to stock.
Check out CAfords.com
Stangnet.com
corral.net
All there sites have great info and starting points.
P.S. My experince involves a 93 convertible with a B&G turbo kit that put down 525 HP to the wheels on the stock short block.
I put down 295 NA
Good Luck
Q: Can you remove the oil pan from a 2000 ford mustang without removing the engine?
I’ve recently busted the oil pan on my ford mustang driving over a curb. The Haynes repair manual dictates to remove the engine and transmission when replacing it. Is that necessary or is there any easier way to fix it.
I’ve recently busted the oil pan on my ford mustang driving over a curb. The Haynes repair manual dictates to remove the engine and transmission when replacing it. Is that necessary or is there any easier way to fix it.
It’s a V6 with manual transmission.
A: If you will notice in the Haynes and Chilton Manuals, the cars are brand new without any corrosion or buggered fasteners. The shops are large, spotless and fully equipped. The guy fixing the car is obviously not worried about getting that particular car back on the road so he can drive it to work or the wife to pick the kids up from school.
Haynes and Chilton Manuals are mechanical pornography as they only illustrate the most superficial aspects of the mechanical relationship you have with your vehicle.
But they can be a good start and provide some specifications.
When I replaced the head gaskets on my Ford Windstar I still had to go online and subscribe to Fords online service manual. This was the real deal. Even though I had both the Chilton and Haynes Manuals, they were almost useless.
I recently replaced the steering rack and all my sources said that I had to unbolt and jack up the sub frame along with breaking apart the exhaust system. After a little examination, I found that I could pull it out through the wheel well easy peasy.
Hopefully you will find an easier way to replace your oil pan as I did with my steering rack..
Q: What is the idle manifold pressure on a 1996 ford mustang gt?
I need to know what the idle manifold pressure is on a stock 1996 ford mustang with the 4.6L V8 2valve. Non PI intake. Also what is the manifold pressure at full-throttle?
A: 16-18″ Hg at idle – at full throttle, it will depend on the engine load and rpm’s. Initially, it’s close to zero.
Q: What is the proper spark plug gap for a 1983 Ford Mustang?
I have a 1983 Ford Mustang, it has a 5.0 liter V8 with air conditioning, power steering, and a 4 speed manual transmission. I don’t have much documentation on the car, I haven’t been able to find any information on it thus far, all I have is the owners manual and I couldn’t find it anywhere. Thanks in advance guys!
A: Motorcraft’s website lists the proper gap at .044 – if you go onto their site and use the “Part Look Up” function it will give you the part numbers as well.
Q: How much would it cost to buy airbags for a 1968 Ford Mustang?
I’m thinking about purchasing a 1968 ford Mustang Coupe, but I’m not sure how much the airbags would cost to buy and have them installed. Can someone help me out?
Not suspension airbags, safety airbags. I guess I’m asking how cheap could I buy airbags, get them installed, and have sensors put in?
A: Porbably about 250-700 dollars..
Q: I have a 2000 Ford Mustang with Flowmaster 40’s. I want to remove cats cuz I heard a ten year law requires non?
I have a 2000 Ford Mustang with Flowmaster 40’s. I want to remove cats cuz I heard a ten year law requires non emissions tests at inspection. I’m in MA.
A: If you live in a heavily regulated area…….then no……if you live in rural South Dakota like me……then no still because it’ll sound like ass….if you have a 6er like I think then the cats actually make the exhaust note a little deeper, which is a good thing because fart-can exhaust = bad!
